Job Title: Buying Process Transformation Manager Location : Nottingham Contract : Fixed Term (Ends 1st Aug 25) Recruiter: Noaman Hussain The Orion programme (SAP ERP Modernisation) is the biggest and most significant transformation programme undertaken by the Company in recent years, and the biggest change activity that we have committed to delivering in the next three years. This programme will modernise the SAP platform, systems, processes and reporting across Boots, No7 BC, and Boots Opticians by moving from three separate SAP ECC6 systems onto a single SAP S/4HANA platform, enabling our ‘Stronger Together’ strategy while creating opportunities to simplify and improve our ways of working. About the role As a key member of the programme team reporting to the Business Process Lead, the ‘Transformation Manager – Buying Process’ is a secondment position working exclusively on the Orion program until the successful completion of the first phase (role ends 1st Aug 2025). Bringing your expertise and knowledge from a background in end-to-end procurement processes in Goods Not For Resale (GNFR - Indirect Procurement), you will work with a diverse team of Business, IT and other process experts to support with the programme testing & cutover phases through to go-live and hypercare. This programme is in-flight, so you will have support from their surrounding team members. Important activities will include driving design decisions and responding to test defects, preparing and supporting User Acceptance Testing, reviewing training content and leading business readiness tasks. Previous project experience and management skills are important, to help you partner with cross functional team members to deliver a solution that meets the business needs. What you’ll need to have These are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role. Project experience working on process and systems change projects, representing the business needs as part of a wider project team. The ability to explain complex issues to those with a non-technical background, and build strong relationships with business partners across the business. Ability to move between big picture & small detail over the lifetime of the programme – ensuring that the future solution does everything it needs to, to deliver on the desired business outcomes. Excellent networking skills – we’ll need to understand and represent the user experience across the business. No single person has all of this knowledge today, so the challenge will be to build & use a broad network to ensure all user groups are represented. The ability to spot potential errors or identify areas of focus/challenge within processes and systems. You will be a critical thinker, willing to challenge with a view to process and systems improvements.
