Sussex Teachers are working with a large community primary school in Brighton to find a PPA Cover teacher to join their team from the start of January until February half term. Working part-time, 4 days a week you will teach across KS1 and KS2 from Years 1 – Year 6.
School Overview
You will be joining a large local authority primary school in Hanover, Brighton. The school believes in a child-centred approach to learning that is based on the principles of inclusion, equal opportunities, global education and cultural diversity. The school has recently been graded as “Good” by Ofsted, with the provision for pupils’ personal development and welfare as "Outstanding". The school is located close to local bus routes and is less than a 20 minutes’ walk from London Road train station.
Key Responsibilities
* Teaching across KS1 and KS2 classes (Year 1, Year 5 and Year 6) for a regular 4 days a week for the Spring term, ideally you would teach on a regular Monday – Thursday, however the school can be flexible on the days you teach.
* Working from a meaningful and enjoyable curriculum, high quality lesson plans will be provided for you to teach from.
* Complete all marking for the sessions you have taught, leaving a high-quality handover (either face to face or written) for the class teacher at the end of the day.
* This regular teaching role does not require the attendance of staff meetings or parents’ evenings, and planning and resources will be provided for you to teach from.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher status.
* Recent classroom teaching experience within KS1 and KS2.
* A strong commitment to working in partnership with pupils, staff, parents and the community.
* Experience teaching in a vibrant, 2 form entry, inner-city school.
* Teach different classes and subjects, broadening your experience across year groups and subjects.
* Improve your work life balance – concentrate on teaching students without the additional responsibilities of staff meetings, parents’ evenings or planning lessons.
* Effective support with professional development.
* Work within a highly regarded school within a professional, highly skilled staff team.
