A Global Centre of Excellence Chassis Engineering Director is sought for a permanent position to join an innovative, state of the art group that specialises in advanced technological engineering for the Aerospace, Automotive and Power industries. Unique to this role the Chassis Engineering Director can be located in either a locality / Country of the Groups residence as the role will require travel globally up to 50% to facilitate the scope of position. The Chassis Engineering Director will be responsible for the Global Delivery Engineering department in response for the delivery of engineering projects, programmes and services to their clients across the globe. The department consists of 4 regions with 13 technical centres servicing the global cross regional delivery needs. The Chassis Engineering Director is responsible for identifying and focusing on industry and market trends that affects their domain and ensuring that lines of service are adapted or created to maintain competitive offerings and ensuring processes, methods and best practices are consistently applied across projects in all regions. Key areas of responsibility for the role of Chassis Engineering DirectorGlobal responsibility for Technical Excellence for Chassis Auto/IHMTechnology development and robust delivery to programmes and services Accountability for Gateway delivery to programme and services needs Innovation strategy Strategic Leadership in developing technology roadmaps and delivery execution plans Awareness of market trends and developments in order to influence and manage the future development of the team Providing appropriate support and guidance to Programme and Project Leads and Engagement Managers to meet client requirements Broad understanding of various OEM Vehicle New Product Introduction NPI processes Demonstrable understanding of various vehicle chassis architectures and system level validation Auto/IHM Proven track record of leadership within automotive and industrial machinery chassis Significant experience in the architecture, design and development, component selection and optimisation of chassis systems for Defence, Automotive, Construction, Agricultural, Mining or Special VehiclesGood understanding of chassis sub systems and components including, braking systems, chassis frame, suspension, steering, wheels, tyres and vehicle dynamics Technical knowledge of design, material, manufacturing technologies and specifications to optimise chassis design for lighter weight, optimised structural and ride and handling performancePlease contact me directly to discuss the post of Chassis Engineering Director - shortlisted candidates will be contacted prior to submission with further details, however should you wish to discuss your application
