Overview
The Resource Management Lead is ultimately responsible for the success of the resource management team in supporting Langland to access our creative talent in an easy, clear, and consistent way. It is a key function in ensuring we have an efficient, flexible, and knowledgeable approach to managing Langland’s creative resource, facilitating booking requests across our multiskilled team of art directors, copywriters, medical copywriters and designers. You will lead the Resource Management team, providing experience for them to rely on whilst also working alongside the senior stakeholders in each discipline and craft to make sure we are future fit in the skillsets we have. You will work to understand any peaks and troughs in workloads, helping to close resource gaps when they arise and be comfortable as the escalation point for queries, navigating challenging scenarios with the ability to find solutions when we hit an impasse whilst remaining cool under the pressure. You will also be expected to identify and lead change focused on creating better efficiency across our creative team resourcing.
Responsibilities
As the Resource Management Lead you will:
* Ensure all creative work going through the agency is scheduled and resourced effectively, and delivered on time.
* Work across all teams within Langland to meet the varied needs and requirements of each project, maintaining close communication with all parties and taking a pro-active and adaptable approach.
* Monitor work to ensure that internal and external resources are used effectively whilst always maintaining a commercial perspective on work.
* Manage a team of direct reports, ensuring they are working to a high standard, servicing the agency and have clear goals and areas of progression in place.
* Be responsible for freelance bookings within the creative teams, ensuring the correct approvals and workload requirements are in place.
* Work with senior leaders across the agency to facilitate continuous improvement in both operations and talent, influencing and offering opinion on the changes needed.
* Facilitate an ethos of open and continuous communication between project teams, ensuring the delivery of great creative work.
* Proactively manage workloads to regulate flow of work and prevent any build-up of pressure on individuals or teams, whilst maintaining delivery schedules.
* Educate the agency on the process for requesting resource and work to ensure understanding.
* Help expand the creative offering so that the resource can be used easily by all disciplines within Langland.
* Be the escalation point to resolve blockers that may appear from time to time.
* Need to communicate clearly about any potential issues due to absences or holidays that could affect the progress of a project.
Qualifications
* You will have had previous experience as a Senior Traffic/Project Manager, or in a similar role, within a design or advertising agency.
* You will be familiar with the diverse skillsets within a creative department and understand the importance of applying this knowledge when scheduling.
* You will possess a thorough knowledge of the internal workings of an agency and the processes of implementation, and be able to make suggestions for improvements to the way we work.
* You will have a good understanding of digital work processes so that digital projects can be effectively managed and integrated seamlessly into the agency’s integrated offering.
* You will be commercially minded and able to demonstrate an ability to influence efficiency from a financial perspective through your previous roles.
* You will understand the specific rules and regulations that govern the healthcare category.
