This is a model big on hospitality and relationships that builds an inclusive community which centres around supporting each other in a spiritual Journey, whatever that spiritual journey might look like. This role is responsible for developing and managing a pilot study to assess the long-term feasibility of a core recovery fresh expression in Woking, Surrey, resulting in flourishing people and communities experiencing fullness of life with Jesus. The successful applicant will be responsible to Be responsible for a pilot to assess the long-term feasibility of a core recovery expression in Woking, ensuring clearly defined objectives and regular monitoring and review to monitor progress Facilitate Christian discipleship, worship and social action, leading prayer, facilitating group worship, providing pastoral support as appropriate, and modelling a consistent Christian lifestyle Provide a welcoming environment where people can access community activities and support for practical and spiritual needs This role has an occupational requirement to be a committed and practising Christian with a willingness and ability to bring ministry to the community. The successful applicant will have Strong experience of developing and operating effective recovery support for those affected by addiction A vibrant Christian faith with knowledge, the ability and willingness to support the spiritual aims of the programme, the ability to lead prayers, help people explore the Christian faith, show compassion and understanding, and be confident in open discussion about spiritual matters Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop successful and collaborative working relationships The ability to work flexibly to deliver the role, such as evening/weekend work You may have… Lived experience of alcohol misuse/abuse A recognised qualification in Christian ministry Experience of funding and grant application processes Be a Salvation Army Soldier We expect you to exhibit behaviours that model our values of integrity; accountability; compassion; passion; respect and boldness.
