Shift Maintenance Team Leader 12/7Based: Hertfordshire Salary: £40,000 includes shift allowance + Bonus BenefitsShift Maintenance Team Leader 12/7 Our client is a world class manufacturer, based in Hertfordshire, currently seeking to recruit a Shift Maintenance Team Leader to join the team of multi - skilled engineers and technicians at their busy Manufacturing Plant. The emphasis for the successful candidate is on excellent Team Leader/Supervisory Skills within a heavy manufacturing environment. Applications are invited from maintenance team leaders / supervisors / managers who have worked in high volume, process driven environments i.e. chemical, food, agro - chemical, automotive, pharmaceutical, refining, or similar. The purpose of this role is to ensure operational requirements of the plant are met through effective prioritisation of work, allocation of tasks, and overall leadership of the multi - disciplined and multi - skilled engineers and technicians within the team.This role covers a full range of responsibilities and activities, including: Responsibility for developing a positive and proactive Environmental, Health and Safety culture throughout the team including ensuring compliance with all EHS procedures including correct use of PPE, incident recording and quality standards are followedPromoting the use of LEAN methodologies within the team and co - ordinating the use of resources and fully utilise the skills within the team to meet operation and maintenance needsBuilding upon relationships with production staff managers, team leaders and operatives to facilitate both timely reporting of active issues and planning maintenance in order to reduce downtime of the plantContinuing to develop a proactive rather than a reactive approach to maintenanceEnsuring your team and contractors perform to the standards demanded by the company, escalating any issues as necessary, including disciplinary action and identifying training requirementsEfficiently organise, plan, prioritise and co - ordinate work tasks Lead team by example, demonstrating commitment and bringing about positive change Identify and implement improvement, cost saving and sustainable opportunities. Ensure Team compliance to Health Safety. Housekeeping and plant hand over duties.This is a challenging role the successful applicant will need to be flexible, determined and self - motivated, with experience of shift work as part of a team. Previous experience of successfully leading a maintenance team within a manufacturing environment is essential.
