My client is a well-established civil and structural engineering firm with multiple offices across the Midlands. They are currently seeking an enthusiastic and talented Senior Structural Engineer to join their dynamic design team. Role Overview:
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of projects across various sectors, including commercial (high-rise), residential, industrial, health, hospitality, and leisure. You will have the opportunity to tackle challenging assignments, working collaboratively with architects, building services engineers, and other industry professionals to create innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead Structural Design: Spearhead the structural design process for projects from concept to completion. Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes and standards, maintaining the highest level of quality and safety.
2. Client and Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors. Develop and maintain strong relationships to achieve project objectives and meet deadlines.
3. Site Inspections and Assessments: Conduct thorough site inspections and assessments to ensure that all quality and safety standards are met. Proactively identify and address any potential issues.
4. Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports based on inspections of existing structures, offering expert analysis and recommendations.
5. Mentoring and Guidance: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Requirements:
1. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering is essential. A Master's degree is preferred.
2. Professional Accreditation: Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (ICE and/or IStructE) is required, or you should be actively working towards it.
3. Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in structural engineering, with a strong background in design, analysis, and team management.
4. Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in structural analysis software and experience using CAD. Knowledge of Revit is highly beneficial.
5. Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities, with a strong attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
