Job summary Fairbrook Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for a paramedic practitioner, on a part time basis for 3 days per week, to join our forward thinking team. We currently have a paramedic working 2 days who is fully supported by the clinical team and we are looking to cover the remaining 3 days, Monday to Wednesday, to replace a paramedic who is leaving. This arrangement has worked wonderfully, providing paramedic cover 5 days a week with direct access, when needed, to a GP. The successful applicant will play a large role within the surgery, with a specific focus on reducing the workload of our GP, by undertaking daily home visits, as well as an element of assessment and consulting with patients on a day-to-day basis. Main duties of the job Assessing, managing, treating, referring and/or signposting patients/service users attending the surgery with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions relating to minor illness or minor injury. Using advanced clinical skills to provide education to service users, promoting self-care and empowering them to make informed choices about their treatment. About us We are a forward thinking, patient focused team based in Borehamwood, providing high quality care to around 15,000 patients.
