Job summary The Clinical Biochemistry Department at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are pleased to announce that they have a full time, permanent Band 7 Senior vacancy. We are looking for a highly motivated HCPC State Registered Biomedical Scientist applicant - previous Biochemistry Band 7 experience is preferable. The successful applicant will be expected to work across both the Luton & Dunstable and Bedford sites. The department has full UKAS accreditation, IBMS/HCPC training status and is one of a few organisations to have Haematology, Transfusion Science and Clinical Biochemistry National School of Healthcare Science accredited training status for clinical sciences. Hours of work are 9am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday, although you may be expected to work outside these hours on occasion to cover unexpected staff absences. Main duties of the job The post holder will manage the day to day operations and technical aspects of the Clinical Biochemistry services. They will work closely with the clinical biochemistry laboratory manager and the pathology services manager, to ensure an effective delivery of Clinical Biochemistry services in line with the other blood science disciplines. The post holder will have line management responsibilities for scientific and support staff in Clinical Biochemistry, including recruitment, training, development, appraisal and performance.
