The importance of your role
Pharmacy Delivery and Collection (PDC) Drivers deliver medication to our customers, pick up prescription forms from doctor’s surgeries, and deliver them to our shops. As part of the PDC team, you’ll provide brilliant care to all of our customers every day, achieving the highest professional standards in your driving and interactions. You’ll be an ambassador for the Boots brand, delivering services into the community and making a real difference in others' lives.
What you’ll be doing day to day
You’ll be busy, constantly on the move between our stores and our customers. You’ll be provided with a vehicle that is fully maintained by Boots and all the training and kit you need to work safely and effectively, including a handheld device for pre-planned routing and sat nav. You may face challenges such as customers not being at home, traffic jams, or flat tyres, and there is also a fair degree of heavy lifting, especially with our monthly delivery schedule. You’ll find satisfaction in being part of a unique service that offers more than other driving jobs.
How will you do it?
This role involves handling important medication and ensuring it reaches those in need, particularly vulnerable individuals. You’ll understand the importance of delivering these items carefully and safely, as customers know and trust you to provide their medication when needed.
What you’ll need to have
We’re looking for great people with a friendly personality. Teamwork is essential, as our people are at the heart of our business. Previous driving experience is a plus, but we value how you contribute to our team and how you serve our customers.
Our Diversity and Inclusion commitment
Diversity and inclusion are central to our operations. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce, offering various flexible working patterns to help our colleagues achieve a good work-life balance.
This role is subject to a DBS/PVG check. Boots is a Ban the Box employer and will consider the suitability of applicants with criminal convictions on a case-by-case basis. You will have the opportunity to discuss this matter with us before a decision is made.
