Job Purpose
The Church in Wales is a vital part of Welsh society, with a clear social purpose and with a message of hope. We are a major national institution with a presence in every community, with deep local relationships, an important national voice, and with far-reaching influence across a range of public activities.
The role of Project Manager is a new post and is part of the Mission and Strategy Group of the Representative Body of the Church in Wales. The role will drive the delivery of some of the Church’s major strategic objectives in order to consolidate, enhance and expand our activities in a variety of areas.
Key tasks which will initially be undertaken include:
* developing our network of Church in Wales schools, including increased Welsh-medium provision;
* implementing a project to transition our church buildings to green energy;
* developing and implementing a fundraising and philanthropy strategy
* developing and implementing high-profile St David’s Day events in London and Cardiff
* contributing to a project to increase the use and visibility of the Welsh language across the Church in Wales
The nature of this role means that the content will continually change as projects are completed and new projects are initiated.
Person Specification
* A minimum of three years’ experience of successful major project delivery, including management of budgets, metrics, reporting processes, deadlines and risk,
* Extensive experience of senior internal and external stakeholder management.
* Extensive experience of senior management and multi-disciplinary team working.
* Extensive knowledge of the current public policy environment, its issues, trends, risks and opportunities.
* Extensive knowledge of, and empathy with, Welsh culture and communities.
* An empathy with the mission and ministry of the Church in Wales
