Powys County Council is looking for a motivated individual who will focus on the implementation of the new Special Procedures: Legislation coming in on 29th November 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee applications from Premises and Practitioners relating to tattooing, body piercing, electrolysis, acupuncture and semi permanent make-up. This is a Fixed term contract until September 2025., The post holder will be primarily responsible for overseeing the issuing of Licences for Special Procedures
- They will work alongside EHO colleagues who will be carrying out compliance inspections at Special Procedures Licensed Premises
- They will be required to assist Licensing Officers in the effective and efficient operation of the Licensing Service within the policies, procedures and objectives of the Council.
- The postholder will need to keep clear, factual and relevant records as appropriate to enable the provision of accurate, up to date information in support of the Commercial Service and as required for collating statistical returns.
- provide advice and respond to complaints and enquiries from members of the public, business owners, Members etc. signposting to other organisations, Officers or departments as necessary.
It would be beneficial to have an interest and understanding of Special Procedures for this role
- The postholder must be competent in the use of Information Technology, which includes the inputting and retrieving of information from office based systems
- The postholder should also have an understanding of Statutory and Regulatory functions of the Service
- They will need to be self-motivated, proactive and capable of working on their own initiative.
