Job Description:
Excellent opportunity for an Electrical Estimator/QS to join a well-established company based in Swindon.
About The Company:
Established for over 50 years, we are a family-run business, and quality is at the very heart of what we do. We work on varied projects across many sectors including retail, hospitality, and leisure for high-end clients including Harrods, Qatar Airways, Tiffany, and British Airways. We are also airport specialists and undertake installation, testing, commissioning, and proactive/reactive maintenance across all UK airports, particularly Heathrow.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Estimating new MEP enquiries, getting prices from suppliers and preparing and submitting the tender. Most of these will be electrical, although some will include mechanical and plumbing.
2. Conduct site surveys and tender interviews as required.
3. Once the project is live, work with the Project Manager to ensure materials orders are placed on time and in line with the tender.
4. Attend relevant meetings with clients, PQS, CA, and other client representatives during the project, updating as required on contractual and financial issues.
5. For larger projects, issue payment or pay less notices in line with contract requirements.
6. Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the project is being delivered within budget.
7. Work closely with internal teams including the Fit-Out team (who are normally the Main Contractor) and the Mechanical team, particularly when submitting a joint M&E tender.
Experience and Qualifications:
1. At least 5 years’ experience of pricing electrical or MEP commercial projects and be both technically and commercially astute.
2. Ability to estimate costs and timescales accurately and work to meet tender return deadlines.
3. Competent in the use of computers and data handling including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
4. General understanding of mechanical and plumbing.
This is an interesting and varied role where every day is different, working as part of a friendly, supportive team. We offer a competitive salary up to £50,000 Per Annum, Depending on Experience and 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays).
