Due to the specific needs of our male customers, we are seeking male applicants only for the role of Youth Development Worker. This approach ensures that we can provide the most appropriate and effective support for our customers.
At LiveWest, we are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. As a Youth Development Worker, you will be part of a dedicated team in Bristol, working with 45 young people alongside housing officers and a team manager in our low support, temporary supported housing service. You will have the opportunity to provide high-quality, personalised support to around 15 young people each week, helping them develop the skills they need to live independently.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide Key Worker Support: Develop and implement support and action plans, update risk assessments, and help young people build life skills.
* Manage Tenancies and Housing: Assist with tenancy management, housing benefits, and other related tasks.
* Collaborate with Agencies: Work closely with mental health services, domestic violence support, private letting agents, and landlords.
* Promote Education and Employment: Explore options for education, training, and employment with young people.
* Person-Centred Support: Adapt your communication style to provide tailored support, helping young people achieve their goals and aspirations.

About The Candidate
To be successful in your application for the role of Youth Development Worker, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 1 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:
* An ability to engage with a range of young people.
* A tenacity in seeking the best outcomes for young people.
* A good understanding of young people’s needs, safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues.
* An understanding of support needs and support planning.
* An understanding of risk assessing and risk management.

* Innovative and creative in your ways of working.
* Resilient and flexible in dealing with others.
* Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Confident in lone working and be a good team player.
