Parkinson Lee Executive Search are currently working with a leading manufacturer and supplier with the appointment of a Health & Safety Consultant Job Title: Health & Safety Consultant Location: Lincolnshire Contract Type: Fixed Term (6-9 months) About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to join our team on a 6-9 month fixed-term contract. This role is critical in reviewing, enhancing, and implementing a robust Health & Safety (H&S) strategy within an industrial manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will drive H&S change management, ensuring frameworks are established for compliance, risk mitigation, and the development of sustainable policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current H&S strategy and propose improvements to elevate health and safety standards across the business. Lead the transformation of H&S practices within a complex, high-risk industrial setting, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including HSE regulations, ISO standards, and industry-specific safety protocols. Establish and refine H&S management systems, implementing effective controls to mitigate operational risks. Create robust, practical policies and procedures that can be effectively managed by the internal team post-contract. Work closely with leadership, operations, and frontline staff to embed a strong safety culture, providing training and guidance to ensure lasting improvements. Analyse past incidents and near-misses, implementing corrective and preventive measures to enhance workplace safety. Drive engagement across all levels of the organization, ensuring employees understand their role in maintaining a safe working environment. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to track the effectiveness of H&S initiatives. Key Skills & Experience Required: Proven experience in H&S leadership roles within a 24/7 industrial manufacturing environment. Strong background in change management and embedding H&S culture within an operational business. In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards. Experience implementing ISO 45001 or similar health and safety management systems. Demonstrated ability to engage with leadership and frontline employees to drive safety improvements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety.
