We are excited to be able to advertise for Band 5 Mental Health Nurses to join the team on Ramsey unit, Dane Garth
As a staff nurse you will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high standard of care to those individuals who are within the most acute phase of illness; ensuring that all aspects of care are delivered. You will need effective communication skills and will be required to take on the roles of shift leader and named nurse.
You will be regularly supported and supervised by a more senior member of staff and a preceptorship is available if required.
We are committed to staff development and provide encouragement and support to staff to continue their lifelong learning.
The successful post holder will be expected to work shifts covering 24 hours, seven days a week.

You will be a Nurse working within a multidisciplinary team and carry out a diverse range of duties. As a Band 5 Nurse within the team you will be regularly supported and supervised by a nominated Band 6 Nurse Specialist and you will be encouraged to take personal responsibility for clinical supervision and your continued professional development plan.
You will undertake a period of preceptorship overseen by a named Band 6 Nurse Specialist within your team and engage on the trusts Preceptorship programme.
You will actively promote teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within the clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and Code of Conduct. You are required to maintain links with your professional body and provide evidence for the revalidation process.
You will provide nurse leadership within the multidisciplinary team and ensure the effective assessment, formulation, planning and monitoring of care given to service users.
You will exercise professional accountability and responsibility using skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments, across clinical boundaries and in unfamiliar situations as outlined within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
You will maintain a positive and open attitude towards organisational change and service development.
*The £3k Welcome Bonus package applies to this role.
The Welcome Bonus is only available to candidates who are not currently employed (or who have not been employed in the last 12 months) by any NHS provider Trust in the Lancashire & South Cumbria (LSC) Integrated Care System (ICS) in a like-for-like role or core profession. For example, a Band 5 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 5 Occupational Therapist / Social Worker / Mental Health Nurse role at LSCFT or in a role such as Mental Health Practitioner Role that requires the same profession.

• Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
• Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met). These incentives are subject to recovery clauses within the first 6 months of employment. This bonus is applicable from 1st July 2024 – 31st December 2024.
The £3k Welcome Bonus package is designed to attract and retain the very best staff in post. The amount a new starter would receive is shown in the Welcome Bonus Payment Schedule below:
• £500 after 2 months of employment (counted from start date with LSCFT)
• £500 after 6 months of employment
• £1000 after 12 months
• £1000 after 24 months
PLEASE NOTE: This bonus scheme is subject to a Repayment Clause should the post holder leave this role within 6 months of commencing employment.
