Job Description The successful applicant will be operating some of Oracle's market leading SaaS platforms used by the global construction industry, running on next generation Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will be responsible for promoting changes and releases to Production infrastructure, maintaining the service of the platform, supporting continuous improvement of reliability and efficiency, and be a technical supervisor and mentor for junior colleagues. The role aligns and supports JSP-604 control policies and procedures for high compliance, as well as well as undergoes regular internal and external independent auditing to verify compliance. Your main responsibilities will include: - Ensuring uptime and availability of our SaaS platforms is maintained. - Trouble-shooting and proactively manage highly technical system issues. - Deploy, configure, and maintain our tools, solutions, and our services operating on Oracle Cloud (OCI). - Operating and contributing to automation with our configuration management tools including: - Ansible - Terraform - Puppet - Jenkins - Ensuring that all operational and administration activities are carried out with a focus on security and operational efficiency. - Operating and contributing to our monitoring and alerting tools including: - Nagios - Prometheus - Grafana - OCI Native Monitoring & Logging - Working proactively with Cloud teams across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS service realms. - Preparing operational reports for senior leadership, management and customers. - Conducting, participating and supporting regular testing and auditing for compliance: - DR Testing - Penetration Testing - CE, ISO 27001, SOC2 - Producing, contributing and maintaining documentation that's supports our processes. - Participation in 24/7/365 on-call rotation to respond to critical incidents and events. Career Level - IC5 Responsibilities Essential skills and experience: 7 years practical experience in an advance IT role or similar with: - Working in Agile teams, using Scrum or Kanban - Modern source control practices, including Git and merge request flows - Knowledge in administering Oracle Database - Advanced Linux administration - OEL or RedHat - Cloud Platforms - Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Amazon Web Services or Azure - Virtualization platforms - KVM, VMware - Networking - TCP/IP stack, DNS and Linux based firewalls and routing - Scripting and automation - Using configuration management tools - Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills using tools like Elasticsearch, Azure Application Insights, Grafana. - Sound knowledge of System and Network security practices. - Engagement in continuous process improvement. - Able to communication clearly to all areas of the business. - A self-starter with the capability to work autonomously. - Able to travel infrequently if required. Desirable: - Background in operating Cloud Platforms at scale: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Amazon Web Services or Azure - Experience with running large scale containerization platforms - Kubernetes - Experience operating Oracle Autonomous Database - Experience running large Java, Python and Ruby applications - General understanding of SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) - Experience with Cloud Automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform - Practical experience with implementing and using configuration management tools like Puppet or Chef Joining Oracle is a great career move.
