Role: Warehouse Team Leader Days
Salary: £30,888 per annum
Located: Barnsley
Hours: 12 hour shifts 7am - 7pm (4 on 4 off Rota)
Our client is looking for a Warehouse Team Leader who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service. This role involves managing daily activities, driving performance improvements, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
The role:
1. Team Management: Supervise, train, and support a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with company policies.
2. Operational Oversight: Oversee daily warehouse operations including order picking, packing, and shipping. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the fulfilment of orders.
3. Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate team performance, providing regular feedback and implementing strategies for improvement.
4. Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular risk assessments and maintaining a safe working environment.
5. Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock checks, and coordinate with other departments to manage stock flow and prevent discrepancies.
6. Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise in warehouse operations, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
7. Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance, including productivity metrics and any operational challenges.
8. Process Improvement: Identify and suggest improvements to warehouse processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
The successful candidate:
1. Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a warehousing or logistics environment.
2. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing and motivating a team.
3. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and other departments.
4. Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
5. Problem-Solving: Adept at identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
6. Health & Safety Knowledge: Understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in a warehousing setting.
7. Technical Skills: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic IT skills.
Qualifications:
1. Education: GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
2. Certifications: Relevant certifications in health and safety or warehousing (e.g., IOSH, forklift truck license) are advantageous but not required.
