CNC Milling Programmer - Aerospace - Bridgwater

Your role: To control the production of programs and conforming parts on the machines, ensuring that the organisation meets its customers' expectations of quality and delivery within their team. To work with the Production Manager, Setter/Operators, and others in the department in promoting a right-first-time approach to all tasks. To adhere to the techniques used within the business, comply with the practices, and promote a continuous improvement ethos. To be willing to learn and become more skilled through training. To work within an AS9100 quality environment.
Your duties:
1. Create programs for the CNC machines from models and drawings using CAD/CAM packages for offline programming and online programming on the machines.
2. Specify/select the correct tooling to manufacture the part using the most efficient processes.
3. Specify/select the correct work holding system to manufacture the parts.
4. Safely operate/use the machine.
5. Load programs onto the machine and select the defined tooling and set it with the correct offsets.
6. Conduct in-process inspection of parts being produced by the machine.
7. Produce conforming parts to the drawings.
8. Complete deburring operations as required.
9. Change inserts, tool offsets when required.
10. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
11. Use the SFDC (Shop Floor Data Collection) to clock on and off the jobs accurately.
12. Report non-conforming parts on SFDC and to the team leader.
13. Suggest improvements to the program/tooling that will improve productivity/quality.
14. Conduct part marking when required.
15. Be able to use all relevant Metrology Equipment.
16. Be able to use CMM Measuring Equipment (training given if required).
17. Help train and mentor trainee setter/operators, operators, and apprentices.
18. Use best practices to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality of the programs.
19. Suggest improvements to work holding, tooling, machinery, and processes.
20. Maintain the machinery as instructed.
21. Work as an active team member and provide cover for other team members when required.
About you: Minimum of 5 years experience of programming Fanuc CNC/Siemens Controls. Minimum 5 years setting and operating CNC Mills. This is a role that needs skilled programmers/setters. You must have a reliable commute to work and live within a commutable distance to M-CNC Ltd.
Your package: Overtime is available at 1.33 x the hourly rate. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent. Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour. Expected hours: 42.5 per week (they pay the 30-minute break per day which is why it is 42.5 hours). Benefits: Company pension, Free parking, 30 days holiday including bank holidays.
