At Aviva, we are transforming how we engage with our customers and are seeking experienced software solution architects to lead IT projects supporting this transformation.
This role suits someone skilled in designing end-to-end solutions that are functional, non-functional, service-oriented, and secure. The focus is primarily on applications and integrations, with an understanding of the underlying technical infrastructure. The successful candidate will be integral to a global architecture team, advocating for the value of architecture across the organization.
Our team is based across UK offices with a flexible working model, averaging 2.5 days in the office weekly.
About the role:
1. Designing solutions within Aviva’s IT application landscape, defining overall architecture and system integrations aligning with standards and strategic goals for availability, security, resilience, and performance.
2. Mentoring and training less experienced architects.
3. Leading key design decisions to adhere to IT roadmaps and meet project needs.
4. Shaping IT initiatives for investment and delivery planning.
5. Producing design artifacts supporting service, security, architecture, and engineering.
Required skills and experience:
* Passionate about leveraging technology for customer benefit.
* Strong design and architecture skills with experience in agile delivery.
* Experience with cloud technologies, especially AWS (desirable).
* Financial acumen for business case development and design decision support.
* Broad or specialized technical experience applicable across various scenarios.
