Our client, a leading engineering design consultancy, is seeking a talented Heavy Lifting Design Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design of bespoke solutions for clients in the areas of Jack Systems, Skidding Systems, Pinned Climbing and Skidding Systems, Synchronous Jacking and Weighing, Heavy Lift and Skid Control Systems, Hydraulic Power Packs, Hydraulic Gantries, Chain Jacks, Hydraulic and Electric Winches, and Hydraulic Sling Length Adjusters.
Role Description
As the Heavy Lifting Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the conceptual and detailed design of permanent and temporary structures, particularly related to construction engineering of bridges, tower systems, and complex structures. You will work closely with a team of engineers and CAD technicians, contributing to the development of innovative solutions and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
Must Have Skills
* 5-10 years of post-graduate experience in the analysis and design of structures, particularly in steel
* Proficiency in the use of finite element analysis computer programs
* Strong general IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
* Excellent presentation and communication skills
* Relevant site experience
* Good working knowledge of Eurocodes, particularly EN 1993
* Positive and effective team player with an innovative and dynamic mindset
Nice to Have Skills
* Chartered engineer status or in the final stages of achieving chartered status (MICE or MIStructE)
* Experience in the design of temporary works, particularly related to heavy lifting and moving projects
* Experience in the design of hydraulic equipment
* Proficiency in the use of computer drafting programs, such as AutoCAD
