This is a great opportunity to be working in a team of Enforcement professionals, to support the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency’s strategy. You will play a key role in driving the achievement of business targets through effective use of resources and the engagement of staff.
Please note: This role is part time; your contracted hours will be 18.5 hours, Monday - Wednesday. This salary is pro rata as the vacancy is part time.
The role involves day-to-day management of Compliance Support Officers (CSO) and Examiners working within the Remote Enforcement Office (REO), with staff being based across Great Britain.
You will lead the development, manage the performance of your team, ensuring that they meet their potential, and deliver a quality service.
The role will involve making appropriate decisions and recommendations for suitable levels of follow up action.
The REO provides national coverage supporting other enforcement schemes and processes within DVSA, in line with the strategy.
You will need to have excellent stakeholder management skills, as you will be working closely with frontline Enforcement staff, the Central Licensing Office, Office of the Traffic Commissioner, Vehicle Operators, Intelligence, the Strategic Traffic Management Office, and central policy teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Responsible for managing own and team’s workload on a day-to-day basis and achieving SLAs both regionally and nationally.
* Determine and plan the team requirements, including allocating resources and prioritising activities, over the short to medium term by fully understanding the business environment in which the team operates, the overall team objectives, ensuring their team fully understands and works to these requirements.
* Demonstrate leadership by providing guidance to staff to support the delivery of objectives. Manage and engage with honesty and integrity, and upholding the reputation of the Agency, Department and Civil Service.
* Work in collaboration with other managers across all functions for the good of DVSA and to create a high performing and well respected Agency.
* Liaise with operators, Examiners, OTC, CLO, STMO, IU and networks.

This role can be based in Birmingham, Bristol, Chadderton, Leeds, Newcastle, Nottingham, Swansea, Wrexham, your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. This role is suitable for hybrid working, and therefore a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements. Hybrid working is a non-contractual arrangement where employees have the flexibility to work remotely combined with a minimum of 60% of their working time a month at either their principal workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, to carry out separate duties at alternative working locations or DVSA sites. There may be occasions where you are required to attend above the minimum expectation.
Occasional travel is required within the UK, however you will be notified in advance.
