Job overview
Supporting the Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with the rehabilitation of patients on Lascelles Complex Rehabilitation Unit by performing hands-on interventions and any relevant administrative duties.
Patients will mostly have neurological disorders and will need rehabilitation and practice of functional abilities so that they can achieve their potential before going back out into the community to live.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a conscientious, forward-thinking therapy assistant to join our Complex Rehabilitation Team on Lascelles ward, working ideally across 4 days Monday to Friday.
The team comprises physiotherapists and occupational therapists working with patients with complex needs. The role of the assistant is to support the therapists in the assessment, treatment, and discharge planning of these patients back into the community in a timely manner.
It is important that you are organised and can work under pressure, along with having good written and verbal communication skills.
In return, you will receive regular support from the experienced and friendly team, and lots of opportunities to learn and develop your skills.

Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent
* Achieved or working towards a relevant qualification e.g. Qualification Credits Framework (QCF)
* Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care or a Foundation Degree in Rehabilitation or equivalent
* Attended other relevant short courses e.g. basic handling course
Experience
* Experience as a Physiotherapy / OT / Rehabilitation Assistant / Care Support worker
* Experience with the elderly/disabled
* Experience of working within the NHS setting
