Kinetic Solutions Group (KSG), a leading specialist engineering company based in Sheffield, is seeking a suitably experienced and dynamic Project Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
This pivotal role will be instrumental in managing and controlling commercial/contractual aspects of our diverse global project portfolio which provides handling, lifting and movement solutions across the nuclear, defence, aerospace and kinetic architecture sectors.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on KSG's commercial management function and contribute to high-profile projects. Your expertise will provide key commercial support to Projects and the Senior Leadership team.
Required skills and qualifications:
* Strong analytical skills.
* Understanding of construction/engineering practices, materials, and industry standards
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder collaboration
* Proficient using relevant software and project management tools
* Experience using NEC, JCT and other bespoke forms of contract
* Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Project Management or Engineering
Budget management:
* Developing and maintaining a comprehensive project budget.
* Tracking actual costs against the budget, identifying variances, and taking corrective actions.
* Forecasting future costs and preparing cost reports for project stakeholders.
Contract administration:
* Reviewing and interpreting construction contracts to ensure compliance with project specifications and budget.
* Managing contract variations, including issuing change orders and negotiating pricing with clients.
* Administration of contractual correspondence and compliance.
* Identifying and managing project related risks and opportunities
Value engineering:
* Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality.
* Analyzing design alternatives to optimize project cost.
Collaboration:
* Working closely with project managers and engineers to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
* Communicating cost updates and potential issues to project stakeholders.
* Identifying and managing project related risks and opportunities
