Role Overview:
We are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to take a leading role in electrical design and technical development within a global engineering team. The role will focus on ensuring compliance with industry standards, driving innovation in product design, and supporting manufacturing and operational teams with expert electrical engineering knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the subject matter expert for electrical engineering, collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide technical authority.
• Ensure electrical designs meet engineering best practices and comply with relevant international standards and regulations.
• Develop and standardize electrical engineering processes to maintain consistency across product lines.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing teams and operational sites, troubleshooting complex engineering challenges.
• Oversee investigations into technical quality issues, working with third-party specialists where necessary.
• Ensure electrical components and systems are selected and engineered for optimal efficiency, reliability, and lifecycle cost across diverse applications and environments.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives, sourcing materials and components that balance performance with commercial viability.
• Support the introduction of new product developments, ensuring they align with market demands and operational requirements.
• Work closely with product managers and engineering teams to define specifications that enhance the commercial value of new and existing products.
• Provide engineering support to resolve manufacturing issues, ensuring smooth production workflows.
• Design testing procedures to validate product performance, collaborating with development teams to analyze and interpret results.
• Build and maintain technical documentation to support product lifecycle management and long-term serviceability.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Chartered Engineer status (preferred).
• Extensive experience in electrical design and development, ideally within a high-tech or industrial engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of design processes and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to optimize product performance while considering reliability, maintainability, and commercial constraints.
• Hands-on experience in technical problem-solving, working with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions efficiently.
