Job Summary

The Senior Application Engineer supports engineering and production employees in the design, build, testing, and installation of custom finished products as needed. Monitor the project scope, schedule, and budget throughout the manufacturing process to ensure that the project can be delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
Your Responsibilities Will Be:
1. Process/Product Optimization:
o Utilize in-depth knowledge of Kemco's technologies, particularly patented technologies, to design and implement cutting-edge solutions for thermal energy efficiency and water treatment.
o Develop bespoke solutions tailored to the unique needs of clients, resulting in increased customer satisfaction and retention.
o Expand knowledge base and refine skill set in thermal energy efficiency, water treatment, and overall system optimization through active participation in training programs.
o Work with sales to improve communication through surveys, emails, and phone calls to provide the best cost-effective solution to our customers.
o Collaborate with project engineers and operations to understand and solve problems that might arise during fabrication.
o Reconcile costs from what was sold to current market conditions when booking new orders.
o Work with vendors to cost atypical systems like closed loop heaters and economizers.
2. Technical Documentation:
o Improve department's technical documentation processes by enhancing process flow diagrams and optimizing layout designs.
o Request and update price books from vendors to facilitate effective collaboration with other departments.
o Keep tools and prices up to date while seeking innovative solutions.
3. Process/Product Design and Development:
o Play a pivotal role in reorganizing departmental operations to align with evolving objectives and priorities.
o Create and update standard operating procedures, optimize existing processes, and develop comprehensive training plans for new employees.
o Conduct a monthly parts cost list update to align proposals with current market conditions.
4. Leadership:
o Provide mentorship to new team members and encourage innovation to enhance cohesion and productivity within the department.
5. Impact on Business Performance:
o Manage proposal requests and order booking effectively.
o Drive business success through strategic planning and execution, resulting in growth in projects sold and revenue.
o Work with the sales team to determine customer needs and develop a process design for systems to meet those needs.
o Establish a cost basis of systems and write detailed proposals describing the systems.
Required Qualifications:
* Knowledge in heater design and heat recovery calculations.
* Experience with typical system designs including direct contact water heaters, heat reclaimers, steam heaters, and more.
* Project management experience.
* 8+ years of relevant experience.
* Bachelors in engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master’s degree in engineering preferred.
