The client is a bank who puts people front and centre - I know they all say that but these guys really listen to what their customers don’t like about finance and does the opposite!
The client
They’ve been named as one of the UK’s Most Loved Workplaces and are redefining what it feels like to work in finance.
MUST be able to come into the London office twice a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays).
Sponsorship is NOT being offered.
The role
Ideally we’re looking for a hybrid Motion/UI Designer, but otherwise a Motion Designer who’s worked closely with the Product Design team to help bring the UI to life.
You’ll be their first Motion Designer within the Experience Design team at the bank, so you’ll have the opportunity to help define the standard for best practice motion and interaction there, while having an immediate impact in some of their key product experiences.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
1. Defining principles, guidelines and documentation for motion and interaction design, as part of their UI Kit.
2. Exploring new concepts for animation through sketches, storyboards, prototypes, etc.
3. Working collaboratively across multiple product and engineering teams to quality check the translation between motion design and production experiences.
The candidate
Key experience includes previous experience working as part of an embedded digital product team, where you’ve been able to challenge, consult and influence from within – this is often trickier if you’ve only had experience as a freelancer or via an agency. Motion for just advertising/media won’t work. This person needs to have experience to show they get the context of creating and can really own and drive this function within the team and wider business.
Also looking for someone who’s used to working in squads, preferably from a permanent role rather than just a string of freelance positions.
Ideally you’ll also have experience from the banking/finance sector, although not essential.
Key portfolio elements we’ll be looking for include:
1. An extremely strong portfolio showing your skillset in motion design for UX and UI across different experiences (App and Web) and emotional registers.
2. Experience working with UI Kits and Design Systems.
3. Examples of working with brand guidelines to develop aligned motion and interaction.
4. Fluency in interactive motion design tools including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
If this sounds like you, then please apply ASAP with your CV AND PORTFOLIO to stand the best chance of getting an interview!
