We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Ward Nurse to join our dynamic team at Swift Referrals, on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with a variety of specialists and provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Your New Role
As a Ward Nurse, you will work with clinicians across all disciplines to provide hospitalised patients with the highest standard of individualised care. You will ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of hospitalisation facilities and patient care equipment while supporting your colleagues in delivering top-notch care. Your role will involve direct care for patients, monitoring vital clinical parameters, administering medications, and assisting in advanced procedures.
Join a Team You're Proud Of
Swift Referrals is a leading multidisciplinary referral hospital, committed to providing outstanding veterinary care across specialties such as orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery—all in one location. Our state-of-the-art facilities include advanced imaging technology, such as a 1.5T Siemens MRI scanner, a 128-slice GE CT scanner, Doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, arthroscopy, and modern operating theatres. We also have separate wards for dogs and cats to ensure patient comfort, as well as a dedicated ECC and OOH centre with a large ICU for critical care.
With a team of over 80 dedicated employees, we prioritise staff well-being, a commitment reflected in the consistently positive feedback from our team satisfaction surveys.
Skills and Qualities
We are looking for a candidate with excellent clinical proficiency, strong attention to detail, and a passion for delivering patient-focused care. The ideal individual will have strong communication skills, be able to work well under pressure, and demonstrate a proactive, adaptable approach while multitasking effectively. While referral experience is desirable, it is not essential. The successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
Working Hours
This is a part-time role, working three full days per week, totalling 29 hours. Working days will be Monday to Wednesday. The schedule will consist of two 10-hour days from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM and one 9-hour day, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
