The Role:
The school is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their understanding of biology, chemistry, and physics, fostering a love for science.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
2. Teach a range of topics across biology, chemistry, and physics
3. Support and challenge students to reach their full potential, adapting teaching strategies as needed
4. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and targeted support
5. Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and department initiatives
6. Participate in extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, competitions, or field trips
Essential Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting
2. Experience teaching across KS3, KS4, and KS5
3. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science
4. An up-to-date DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
5. Excellent communication and classroom management skills
6. A commitment to inspiring students and fostering a love for Science
Desirable Skills & Experience:
1. Experience with GCSE and A-Level Science delivery
2. Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
3. Knowledge of different teaching strategies to engage a diverse range of learners
4. Familiarity with exam board specifications and assessment criteria
5. Ability to contribute to whole-school STEM and sustainability initiatives
