Become a Junior Information Security Engineer
This is an exciting new role at The Works. Reporting into the Infrastructure Manager you will play a crucial role in securing our infrastructure across our Stores, Distribution Centre (DC) and Support Centre (SC).
We need someone who is a critical thinker, takes ownership and can dive into the detail. You are someone working in a security operations centre or have infrastructure knowledge and is ready to learn on the job.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking to join our evolving Technology Services team working across our on-prem and cloud platforms.
Your Mission
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Security Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be involved in developing, implementing, and maintaining our security systems, participating in the identification and resolution of security threats and vulnerabilities, managing our attack surface, and contributing to our overall security posture.
The key responsibilities are:
* Monitor security tools for anomalies and work with SOC and more senior team members to respond to potential security incidents.
* Assist in the development and implementation of security measures and controls to protect systems and data.
* Conduct internal security assessments using automated and manual tools to identify vulnerabilities or gaps in our controls.
* Maintain the vulnerability remediation and patching program, assisted by more senior team members.
* Assist with other teams to ensure the effective integration of security practices across all technology projects and systems.
* Aid in the response to security breaches in a timely and competent manner.
* Work with seniors in the team on the creation and maintenance of security documentation and policies.
* Stay updated with the latest in cybersecurity trends and technologies.
* Feed into security training and awareness programs to educate employees about security best practices.
Due to the nature of this position, it will require some regular out of hours work as you work on mission-critical systems.
The Technology Services team is a small but committed team at The Works and this role will give you exposure to a full range of cyber security tools and processes.
Skills/Behaviours That Will Set You Apart
Mandatory
* Windows Server management, and maintenance in a multidomain environment.
* Active Directory including AAD, GPOs & UAC.
* Strong in management and ongoing improvements of Office 365.
* Experience managing Intune policies and configuration, with the ability to troubleshoot autonomously.
* Experience of working in an environment aligning to ITIL best practice and focusing on the business impact.
* Experience in delivering small projects.
* A strong understanding of cyber security principles and a security-first approach to infrastructure design.
* PCI compliance experience.
