The Data Scientist III (Analytics Manager) plays a vital role in identifying and actioning data-driven opportunities. With the objective of driving revenue growth, the Analytics Manager plays a vital role in analyzing business performance, identifying gaps and opportunities to connect supply and demand, and driving new proactive initiatives to bring commercial growth to the next level. Day-to-day activities include performance analysis, partner deep-dives, identifying anomalies and gaps, and building scalable tools to accelerate speed to insights. This person will also partner as needed with other functions such as supply, operations, and the the broader analytics organisation at PLS.
This position can be based in Singapore or London, reporting to a Director in Analytics.
What you will do:
* Drive proactive opportunity identification related to APAC partners in Expedia's B2B business in order to grow revenue and market share
* Conduct deep-dive analysis at a partner level to explain latest trends and changes
* Provide recommendations on revenue improvement, based on expected opportunity size
* Measure results and learnings from any initiatives implemented, including impact to revenue, competitiveness and supply metrics
* Build and manage relationship with stakeholders and partners in the region
Who you are:
* Min. 5 years work experience as Business Analyst or Data Scientist with focus on strategic / business problems (required)
* Proven experience in identifying growth opportunities, and driving the implementation of solutions to realize them (required)
* Excellent SQL skills, with ability to write SQL from scratch, good understanding of databases and exploring new data sets independently from scratch (required)
* Experience with reporting and data visualisation tools, in particular Tableau (required)
* Strong understanding of revenue drivers and commercial environment (required)
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex analysis to a non-technical audience (required)
* Good understanding of statistics and probability, with ability to apply to commercial problem solving
* Experience in sales analytics role (i.e. analytics role working with a sales function specifically) preferred
* Bachelor’s in quantitative discipline - Data Science, Math, Business / Economics, etc.
* Fluency in English. Fluency in one other Asian language (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, Korean) preferred
