We have an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified/experienced Process Design Engineer ideally specialising in novel process scale-up to join as a core member of the team at Concrete4Change.

Job Title: Senior/Principal Process Design Engineer
Location: Nottingham
Remuneration: Above market salary including:

Job
C4C is an R&D driven company and will always be highly R&D driven. We have now developed two products that are being pushed forward for scale-up. Your job will be to work with the R&D and management team to scale-up the C4C process. We are looking for people who are driven and want to evolve to become technical leads part of our company as we expand globally over the next few years.
Please see the person's specifications and roles & responsibilities below:
Essential:
* MSc or PhD in Chemical Process Engineering (Your first degree must be in process engineering)
* 5+ years of process design experience in a top tier design house or significant experience in R&D process scale-up.
* Experience in R&D process scale-up.
* Gas processing experience.
* Through understanding of thermodynamics and ability to apply their knowledge to process design and optimisation.
* Profficient in first principal process design calculations.
* Deep understanding of research driven design and ability to communicate with chemists.
* Experience in powder processing, filtration and slurry handling.
* Experience in adsorption, adsorption and packed column design.
* Must have line managed their own team with full responsibility for their performance.
Desirable:
* Charetered with the Institute of Chemical Engineering (IChemE)
* O&G experience.
* Experience in developing new licencing frameworks.
* Experience in R&D management
* Experience in cement processing.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, development, and optimisation of chemical processes from first principles.
* Lead the scale-up of C4C process units, working in the R&D team to help optimise the processes.
* Help with the management of the R&D project, peer review project proposals, review reports and make significant contributions to the C4C R&D.
* Research and Development: Lead the research and development activities, including designing experiments, help design laboratory-scale studies, and evaluating the performance of different materials and systems.
* Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to ensure project objectives are met.
* Develop project plans, set milestones, and manage resources effectively to deliver projects within scope, budget, and timeline. Monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures as needed.
* Compliance and Legal Policies: Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to financial management, including budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements.
* Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, scientific publications, and presentations to disseminate research findings internally and externally. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of experimental data, methodologies, and results.

* Case study is designed to evaluate your technical and non-technical problem solving skills utilising your experiences.
* If case study satisfactory – 1.5h deep interview with ~3 members of the team.
