Main Duties/Responsibilities:
As a Consultant Psychiatrist for CAMHS (Learning Disability) with Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, you will:
* Provide treatment for families, children, and adolescents, tailored to individual needs in a multi-disciplinary setting.
* Assess families, children, and adolescents who present with a mental health issue and have a learning disability aged 5 to 18 years old.
* Consult and collaborate with other agencies in the assessment and treatment of complex cases.
* Meet and consult with other members of the team and members of the Children's Health Services, which includes Community Paediatricians.
* Plan and co-ordinate mental health services for children, adolescents, and families where appropriate.
* Prepare professional assessments and reports on those children or young people known to you.
* Participate in medical audit and evaluation.
Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications:
Essential:
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within 6 months.
* Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
* Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
* Holds and will use a valid UK driving license OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.
