Tree Officer
Grade 7, £37,035 up to £41,511 per annum pro rata (pro rata salary £22,521 up to 25,243 per annum)
22.5 hours per week (hours each day to be agreed), permanent contract
Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council have a vacancy for a Tree Officer.
This role is integral to the work of the Council in helping to ensure that:
Tree stock on all our park and open spaces are managed and maintained in a safe condition for visitors
Tree and landscaping advice and support to our Planning Team is provided to determine planning applications for works to trees protected by Tree Preservation Orders (TPO’s), trees protected through being in a conservation area and for the removal of hedgerows
Advice is provided to Planning Officers on applications for development where trees may be impacted
Effective procurement, contract management and delivery of arboriculture related works
The maintenance and development of our Geographical Information System (GIS) and tree database
Standards are raised across the service
To apply you will need:
Arboriculture qualification at HND level or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Experience of working in a planning service
A good knowledge of tree management
Tree assessment skills
Excellent communication skills
A driving licence and use of own vehicle
