The key purpose of the role is to support the Global Head, Frameworks, Policy and Assurance in the design, implementation and maintenance of the Enterprise Assurance Standard that sets out the assurance activities that apply across Bupa. The objective of this Standard is to ensure a consistent way of describing Assurance activity across the First and Second Line in Bupa. It sets out the minimum requirements around how Assurance activities must be planned, executed and reported and contributes to achieving good customer outcomes across the Group.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
1. Develop and maintain the Enterprise Assurance Standard so there is clarity on the expectations of assurance activity in the 1stand 2ndlines.
2. Develop, implement and maintain a scorecard for the 2ndline to use in assessing IMS and GRC maturity to ensure consistency of reporting
3. Support the businesses and functions in the design and execution of appropriate assurance activities.
4. Based on reporting provided by the Group Risk Governance & Reporting Team, analyse and provide insights into the use of IMS and GRC tools and risk management practices, identifying areas for improvement across Bupa’s businesses and functions.
5. Ensure that the Group CRO, the Group Risk Directors and senior management are sighted on all MU/BU material weaknesses in risk management practice identified through second line assurance activities.
6. Undertake controls testing/assurance activity in relation to Bupa’s Principal risks and Risk Management & Internal Control Framework and provide an assessment of the effectiveness of the controls and the identification of any control deficiencies.
7. Support the effective working of the BERC and BRC through the provision of Assurance commentaries and other input to the CRO Report and other papers as required.
8. Create, regularly review (at least annually) and maintain information on the Global Risk Hub to ensure the latest information is available, accurate and that outdated materials are archived.
9. Work with MU’s and Group Function leads to identify training needs and create and implement solutions that drive improvements in risk management understanding practices across Bupa.
10. Using data from incidents, complaints, Assurance and breaches identify weaknesses in controls or risk management practices and design appropriate solutions to remediate weaknesses.
11. Support the annual ICRMA by designing and delivering the digital process including online forms, Sharepoint lists, PowerBI reports and other dashboards as required that enable the collation and analysis of submissions and appropriate reporting to key stakeholders including the Risk Executive Team.
12. Support the development and implementation of a library of ‘reference controls’ in GRC tools by working with risk owners to define standard controls for their level 3 risks.
13. Provide support for other Group Risk Directors as required.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
14. Knowledge and experience of best practice risk management and governance frameworks, methodologies, and emerging practice as well as a broad knowledge of all disciplines within the risk management function
15. Experience of audit/assurance activities to assess the effectiveness of the management of risk across businesses and functions in a complex international organisation.
16. Experience of financial services regulatory environment and key regulatory regimes.
17. Skilled communicator with the ability to influence others.
18. Good judgment and decision making.
19. Well organised, flexible and adaptable: Able to work under significant pressure and intensity -handling multiple priorities.
20. Excellent attention to detail with good verbal and writing ability.
21. Experienced user of PowerBi and Sharepoint
22. Excellent Microsoft Office skills
