Role Overview:
Morgan Philips are presently representing a globally operating logistics and supply chain business in their search for a Legal Counsel. Reporting into the Head of Legal, EMEA, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Legal function of the company including but not limited to helping in negotiating commercial contracts, risk management and insurance, liaising with internal staff to establish and manage corporate compliance initiatives, and liaising with outside legal counsel.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Review, redline, and negotiate all types of contracts including Master Service Agreements, Vendor Agreements, Software licensing agreements, complex ecommerce contracts, Agency and Trademark Agreements, NDAs, etc.
2. Maintain and assist with renewing or negotiating company property leases.
3. Assist in resolving and defending any major disputes on behalf of the business and lead on smaller disputes and dispute resolution strategy.
4. Assist in trademark enforcement across UK&I.
5. Work with and support various requests such as GDPR and other privacy rules and regulations.
6. Assist Head of Legal – EMEA to build the UK & I Legal team including defining the legal strategy and initiatives for UK&I.
7. Support the business with operational requests that need legal support along with other matters/projects as assigned.
8. Collaborate with outside counsel to drive cost saving efficiencies and mitigate risk.
9. Assist Human Resources including drafting Employment Agreements and negotiating Staffing Agreements.
10. Work with and assist Human Resources and Compliance to improve legal compliance across UK&I.
Required Experience:
* Experience in Commercial law and Contracts is essential.
* 2-4 years PQE preferred.
* Some in-house experience is essential.
* Knowledge in Cross-border contracts and Trade law.
* Experience in Commercial property, Technology law and contracts, Data Protection and Compliance, Employment Law, Litigation and Dispute resolution, Corporate governance, Trade Marks and Enforcement.
