As a Stock Partnerships Manager, you will act as a key ambassador for Newlife, forging and nurturing relationships with major retailers, brands, and manufacturers across the UK. Your primary focus will be securing regular donations of unsold and surplus stock to be sold in our retail stores to generate vital funds that support disabled and terminally ill children and their families.
About Newlife
Newlife has been transforming lives for over 30 years, providing essential support for children with disabilities and life-limiting conditions. Our Commercial Division is central to this mission, generating significant income through innovative stock donation partnerships. These partnerships offer businesses a sustainable solution for managing surplus stock, helping them achieve their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals while supporting a meaningful cause.
With a proven track record, strong long-term relationships, and ambitious growth plans, this is the perfect time to join our team and play a key role in driving positive change.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain relationships with existing stock partners, including retailers, brands, and manufacturers.
2. Proactively identify and secure new stock partnerships to increase donations and expand Newlife's reach.
3. Promote Newlife's stock management services, which help partners reduce waste, protect the environment, and achieve ESG goals.
4. Create tailored presentations and proposals to engage new partners and ensure their ongoing commitment.
5. Provide regular updates to partners on the outcomes and impact of their contributions, demonstrating their role in supporting Newlife's mission.
6. Lead and develop a team to manage and grow stock partnerships effectively.
7. Mentor and support team members to improve partner communications and maintain high standards of service.
8. Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and stay informed about developments in the retail and manufacturing sectors.
9. Analyze data and produce regular reports on partnership performance, stock volumes, and ESG contributions for senior management.
10. Develop and track KPIs to measure success and inform strategic decisions.
11. Act as a key representative of Newlife at business meetings, events, and industry forums, showcasing the Charity's impact and services.
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. A background in sales, account management, commercial, or buying roles, ideally with experience in the retail sector.
2. A strong understanding of the retail industry and its challenges, particularly around sustainable and ethical stock management.
3. Proven success in driving year-on-year growth in partnerships, stock volumes, or commercial performance.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
5. Experience in preparing and delivering impactful presentations to secure partner support.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage both individual and team workloads.
7. Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and using advanced IT tools to track performance.
8. A self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset, with the initiative to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
9. Experience in line management, including mentoring and supporting team members to achieve shared goals.
10. The role may require occasional travel for partner meetings or events.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
1. An existing network of contacts in retail, particularly in the fashion or homewares sectors.
2. Knowledge of environmental sustainability requirements and practices.
3. Experience creating and managing service agreements or partnership contracts. A willingness to represent Newlife at events and conferences, presenting our mission to wider audiences.
What We Offer:
1. A rewarding opportunity to combine commercial success with meaningful impact.
2. The chance to work with an experienced and passionate team committed to making a difference.
3. Ongoing professional development opportunities to help you grow in your role.
4. A supportive and inclusive working environment, where your contributions are valued.
5. Competitive salary and benefits package.
If you are passionate about driving sustainability in the retail industry and want to help make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families, we would love to hear from you.
