About Our Client
As the Regional Fleet Engineering Manager, you will oversee the performance and compliance of our third-party maintenance and repair network. Your goal is to manage engineering and supplier maintenance cycles efficiently while meeting operational and customer needs.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
* Engage in cross-training and maintain professional conduct.
* Maintain high standards of appearance and adhere to company regulations.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop the Field Engineering Team, ensuring service levels and KPIs are met.
* Conduct regular team meetings and manage recruitment and resources.
* Review third-party performance and costs, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
* Develop and maintain a robust third-party network.
* Manage commercial agreements, including parts costings.
* Collaborate with Regional CS teams to optimise throughput of work.
* Ensure all third-party services meet customer expectations.
* Roll out agreements and maintain ongoing management of the network.
* Implement plans for business objectives and assess employee performance.
* Investigate repair failures and compliance issues.
* Drive continual process improvements within financial budgets.
* Ensure compliance with legal standards through collaboration with industry bodies.
* Provide technical engineering support to internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage warranty claims and manufacturer recalls.
* Engage with manufacturers on vehicle in-service issues and resolution plans.
* Identify areas for continual improvement and implement solutions.
* Participate in engineering change management and tender responses.
* Evaluate new suppliers for inclusion in the maintenance network.
* Maintain relationships with external maintenance providers.
* Generate reports to track performance against objectives and budgets.
The Successful Applicant
Experience:
* Managing vehicle engineers/technicians in workshop or mobile maintenance operations.
* Managing engineering managers.
Qualifications:
* Knowledge of commercial vehicle engineering (ideally City and Guilds level 3 or equivalent).
Skills:
* Strong relationship management and influencing skills.
* Excellent communication (verbal and written) and numerical skills.
* Budget management and data analysis capabilities.
* Proficient in Office 365 and fleet management systems.
Attributes:
* Flexible working attitude.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage a diverse workload.
This role is field-based across the South West of England, so any location is desirable but you would need to travel.
