Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Warehouse Operative to oversee operations within their workshop environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of the heavy plant industry.
Duties
1. Maintaining records of parts and associated equipment used by the business.
2. Interpret schematics to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions efficiently.
3. Responsible for sourcing and ordering parts and associated equipment as required by the business.
4. Undertaking LOLER inspections of chains and lifting equipment.
5. Ensure that the workshop is maintained in a tidy condition and that all walkways are free from clutter.
6. Ensuring that there are suitable spares in place to enable machines to be fully operational.
7. Implementing a bar-coded system within the warehouse.
8. Manage inventory of tools and materials, ensuring that the workshop is well-stocked and organised.
9. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, conducting regular inspections of tools and machinery.
Experience
1. Proven experience in a workshop or mechanical environment is essential.
2. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform heavy lifting as required.
3. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members alike.
4. Experience in reading and interpreting technical schematics is an advantage.
5. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications as well as warehouse management software.
6. The ability to safely operate warehouse machinery and equipment.
7. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
8. Effective communication skills.
9. Detail-oriented.
