Main duties of the job
1. Closely liaison with nursing staff and Lead Advanced Pharmacist for cancer to plan the timely delivery of chemotherapy to the day case and in-patient and other aseptic products across the Trust.
2. Agree the scheduling of patients with Lead Advanced Pharmacist Cancer and chemotherapy nurses to ensure that there is minimal waste of chemotherapy and within the capacity of the Aseptic Units.
3. Consult with pharmacy, medical, nursing, portering, and managerial staff as appropriate in order to resolve problems and ensure the efficient running of the service.
4. Co-ordination and supervision of the team working in the aseptic units and support area delivering cancer medication and affiliated services.
5. Handling issues related to treatment of patients with medicines, who are seriously ill and in advanced or end stages of disease, especially cancer.

6. Previous/current hospital experience is Essential.

7. Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
8. Accredited Checking Technician.
9. NVQ Level 3 for Pharmaceutical Sciences/BTEC, City & Guilds equivalent/Apprenticeship.
