The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Secondary School Welfare Officer starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the welfare and well-being of our students, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide emotional and practical support to students facing various welfare issues.
2. Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to identify and address welfare concerns.
3. Develop and implement strategies to promote student well-being and mental health.
4. Liaise with external agencies and services to provide additional support when needed.
5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of welfare cases and interventions.
6. Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies related to student welfare.
Qualifications and Experience:
7. Relevant qualifications in social work, counselling, or a related field.
8. Experience working with young people in a welfare or pastoral role, preferably within a school setting.
9. Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to student well-being.
Requirements:
13. The right to work in the UK.
14. Has or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
15. Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
16. Strong organisational and time-management skills
17. Demonstrated commitment to education and personal growth.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
