Job Title: Senior Technical Services Manager Location: Wakefield, (with some travel across the UK sites) Salary: £68,000 per annum (dependent on skills, knowledge, and experience) Benefits: Car or car allowance, bonus scheme & more Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week Role Overview We are working for a leading energy and service solutions provider in recruiting for a Senior Technical Services Manager who you will lead, support, and provide guidance to Site Facilities Managers, Supervisors, and operatives, ensuring the effective delivery of technical services across multiple sites. Your responsibilities will include managing maintenance services related to mechanical, electrical, building fabric, and small project management, as well as overseeing statutory and regulatory compliance across our UK operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead the management of National Electrical Testing and Inspection Teams to ensure all activities comply with relevant safety, regulatory, and industry standards. Deliver assurance of contractual and statutory compliance, identifying technical risks and finding solutions to mitigate them. Collaborate closely with operational teams to implement standards, processes, and systems to ensure excellence in technical service delivery. Provide guidance on health and safety management across operations, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and best practices. Oversee the procurement, set-up, and monitoring of key service providers, ensuring quality inspections, testing, repairs, and documentation are completed according to regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Facilities and Utilities Managers, Senior Engineering Managers, and Operations teams. Manage performance through appraisals, disciplinary actions, and development of training programs to enhance staff competency and skillsets. Ensure adherence to safe systems of work, including specific roles such as Authorised Person (AP) and Responsible Person (RP). Support the Facilities Management teams in client communications and provide technical and contractual backup as required. Conduct audits, produce technical reports, and ensure compliance documentation is maintained. To succeed in this role, you will need: Relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical/building engineering HNC/ONC/C&G (or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline Proven management experience in Hard FM teams, with knowledge of SFG Specifications and British Standards Strong awareness of Health & Safety standards (preferably with IOSH or equivalent) Experience in risk assessment and safe equipment management Familiarity with statutory compliance in Facilities Management, including Legionella Control, Electrical Safety, and Mechanical Systems Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to develop, motivate, and manage teams effectively
