An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Front Line Manager to join our Bradford Bakery production team. The role is responsible for leading and developing all shift-based production activities while driving improvements within agreed safety, cost, quality, and timescale criteria, in order to optimize the use of all assets.
Key responsibilities include:
* To action and support the team to exceed all the defined KPIs for the shift requirements of:
o Quality without compromise
o Capacity
o Waste reduction
o Yield
o Labour
* Ensuring safety is paramount, actively leading by example delivering a zero-accident culture
* Ensure adherence to work instructions, risk assessments and method statements
* Responsibility for compliance with the PPE requirements for the team
* Train and support team members so that they are multi-skilled and competent in all tasks.
* Leads from the front in a flexible and committed manner.
* Ensure quality focused and driven to achieve high standards of food safety, hygiene and compliance, and maintains an audit-ready state
* Participation in customer visits, audits and technical meetings, as required
* Clear understanding and adherence to HACCP principles
* Promotion of high standards of GMP at all times
* Leads the development of a proactive approach to “Clean As You Go” within the workplace
* Enhances controls, processes and systems where possible
* Delivers and sustains the cost control and productivity elements of the Hovis PMF
The successful candidate will possess:
* Relevant industry experience
* Leadership and people management skills – the experience of managing teams in an FMCG manufacturing environment
* An advanced food hygiene qualification
* Plant baking qualifications
* IOSH
* Lean / six sigma experience
* Experience of working effectively in a Trade Union environment.
* Demonstrated experience within manufacturing environment preferably baking.
* People management experience
* Knowledge of basic baking techniques
Hours of work are 4 on 4 off, with 2 days shifts and 2 night shifts working 6am until 6pm.
