Job Description
Overseeing operations, supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service and being a brand ambassador for the department. To manage all aspects of running the retail areas including barista bars, restaurant and market. Set and monitor standards ensuring all KPIs are met and constantly strive to exceed them. Motivate and inspire the team to reach their full potential acting as role model.
* Take responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of their department, by managing the day-to-day operations so that customer expectations of quality and standards are met daily.
* Taking ownership of all Health and Safety requirements for their department, ensuring compliance with BaxterStorey internal policy and relevant Governing Bodies.
* Leading from the front of what we expect from our Catering team, being operational during our service hours, and motivating and encouraging the team to deliver the best service possible.
* Works towards achieving all financial targets/forecast and put in plans to address any shortfalls in particular with regards to gross profit and sales. Advocates sound financial/business decision making – challenging any shortfalls in budgeted GP and sales, with plans in place to rectify.
* Drive constant innovation with regards to product, staying up to date with trends in the industry driving sustainability and provenance. Working closely with the Back of House team, collaborating to bring the Catering offer to life.
* Responsible for all marketing within the Catering department, including ensuring that all signage is displayed correctly, and the Catering menu is sent to the client in the agreed time frame.
* Ensure excellent customer service, regularly assess customer experience and recommend improvements and act on areas of concern with Retail Manager.
* Monitoring customer feedback, handling customer complaints and resolving issues with action plans in a timely manner.
* Be responsible for all staff within your department particularly with regards to customer service, holding 1-1s and appraisals and prepare development plans for direct reports and ensure these have been completed. Monitor development and make recommendations for succession planning.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Excellent level of both written and spoken English
* Displaying a ‘can do’ attitude
* Organisational skills and ability to plan ahead
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Exceptional customer service
* Microsoft office applications including SharePoint, Forms, OneDrive, Outlook etc
* A successful record of achieving targets and results orientated
* Ability to work under pressure with constantly changing priorities
* Having accountability for gross profit and financial management
* Analytical approach to problem solving
* Comfortable managing all legal requirements with regards to Health and Safety, and have a keen understanding of allergens.
Desirable:
* Understanding of ESG regulations and industry initiatives
* Current food legislations
* A recognised Health and Safety qualification.
