Job Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one support to a child with SEN in a KS1 setting.
* Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans and behavior management strategies.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional development of the student.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure the student's needs are met effectively.
* Support the student in accessing the curriculum and adapting learning materials as necessary.
* Monitor and record the student's progress, behaviors, and achievements.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting.
* A qualification related to working with children in schools, such as Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
* Knowledge and understanding of various special educational needs, particularly physical disabilities and communication aids.
* Ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively and sensitively.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of children with SEN.
* Experience working with physical disabilities and familiarity with communication aids.
* Training or certifications in relevant areas such as Makaton, PECS, or Team-Teach.
* Understanding of KS1 curriculum and teaching methods.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
