About the Role:
The role is for an experienced Modeller, to work on a project which is developing, building and testing real hardware for a key missile sub-system. The role is to produce models of the seeker for a number of new seeker concepts/architectures. This includes representations of the seeker hardware, digital processing and target environment. You would be part of a team that is responsible for developing the model, producing auto-code, generating seeker performance predictions and interfacing the seeker model into the missile dynamic reference model.
Responsibilities:
1. Modelling in Matlab and Simulink using model-based design techniques
2. Producing parts of a complex Seeker model including modelling the target scenario, seeker
3. hardware and processor algorithms
4. Develop and implement algorithms within the model
5. Producing and verifying auto-code for the software algorithms from the model
6. Carrying out seeker performance assessment
7. Producing a simpler representation of the model for use in the missile model
8. Optionally updating the legacy Seeker model in Statemate
9. Documenting the model changes and creating test vectors
Due to the sensitive nature of the work it is predominantly done on-site but there is some flexibility depending on project.
Tools:
10. Simulink
11. Matlab
Skills (Essential):
12. Modelling for auto-coding.
13. Assessing suitability of algorithms in the model.
14. Technical report writing.
15. Model delivery experience.
Skills (Desirable):
