About the role:
Covering the geographical area of Midlands and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will have responsibility to drive the growth of mps sales in this region.
A key part of the role will be to identify and target new adviser firms to build relationships with and drive new business flows to the abrdn mps portfolios.
To identify potential back book of assets that could be transferred to abrdn mps solutions and ensure the smooth transition of the assets to abrdn MPS.
To grow the adviser support base and the abrdn mps assets in the region. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining existing relationships in the region to ensure continued new business flow into the abrdn mps portfolios and to support the adviser firms’ requirements to maintain a strong business partnership.
Key requirements:
1. Deliver against allocated personal sales/growth targets at an individual level and by contributing to the overall team target and ambition to grow the abrdn mps business.
2. Empowered to analyse available data and insight to inform and appropriately target activities with priority opportunities, maintaining excellent records on account intelligence utilising CRM systems.
3. Identify and build external relationships with key influencers and business writers to maximise new client acquisition rates.
4. Establish, develop, and strengthen internal relationships to utilise, delegate and develop supporting resources to meet adviser needs and growth objectives, increasing conversion rates of new opportunities.
5. Always operate with a commercial mindset, striving to deliver on the required growth objectives and target adviser experience in a cost-effective and sustainable manner.
6. Lead on problems and complaints and delegate or call out as appropriate to ensure an outstanding client experience.
7. Ensure behaviour and conduct is consistent with the company blueprint and all regulatory and risk requirements are adhered to.
8. Update and maintain industry and product knowledge to maximise business opportunities and ensure credibility with advisory firms.
9. Working closely with the wider abrdn adviser distribution team to ensure potential opportunities are maximised across the group.
Candidate requirements:
1. Previous experience of working in a fast-paced Sales environment.
2. Can demonstrate an accurate and up to date market and industry knowledge to ensure credibility when engaging with clients.
3. Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised, identifying and qualifying new opportunities.
4. MPS/DFM sales experience preferred.
5. Ability to work and manage a large geographical area.
