Douglas Scott are on the lookout for an excellent, proactive, and self-motivated Legal Secretary to join our leading Birmingham-based client. The role will be based at their Birmingham office within their Property Team.

The Role:
1. Full Conveyancing support to the Conveyancing Dept.
2. Diary management / arranging meetings
3. Coordinating team diaries and arranging travel
4. Opening of client files
5. Ensuring regular and efficient billing and monitoring retainer arrangements
6. Carry out copying, archiving, organisation of client files and filing systems, including electronic filing
7. Make and receive telephone calls, ensuring all calls are managed
8. Arrange couriers/deliveries
9. Dealing with invoices
10. Prepare monthly client billing, expense claims and general finance tasks
11. Maintain database with client and contact details
12. Draft correspondence and prepare standard documentation from audio/copy
The Candidate:
1. Previous experience in a Conveyancing team
2. Fast and accurate typing speeds
3. Previous experience using a case management system
4. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Digital dictation and any other in-house systems in use throughout the firm
5. Proficient in diary management; meeting arrangements, telephone and email communication
6. Excellent communication skills
7. Ability to prioritise tasks and to work under pressure
8. Able to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility
9. Able to produce accurate work with strong attention to detail
10. Team player who is able to work as part of a team and use initiative but also able to work independently
