The Role
We are now looking for an experienced Head of Production to join our growing team! You will be an expert in packaging artwork, print technologies, and color management, ensuring that all projects meet the highest production standards. This is a fast-paced role in an artwork studio where you will be responsible for managing all aspects of creative output through to the artwork process while advising on all production aspects.
This is a senior role in a fast-growing, highly regarded packaging agency, with the opportunity to lead technical artwork & print production with major global brands. You'll work directly with printers, clients, and production teams to deliver high-quality results.

About You
* Expert in color management – Must have experience in fingerprinting presses, setting up color standards, and managing color workflows to ensure accurate and consistent print results.
* Strong print production knowledge – Must understand different print processes (flexo, litho, digital, gravure) and artwork production requirements.
* Client & printer-facing experience – Must be confident in presentations, liaising with clients, and working directly with printers to resolve issues and ensure high-quality output.
* Team leadership – At least 5+ years managing an artwork production team, including recruitment, training, and workflow management in a fast-paced agency environment.
* Technical expertise in FMCG packaging – Must have experience with high-volume packaging artwork production and working with major retailers.
* Strong pre-press & quality control skills – Must ensure artwork accuracy, barcode compliance, and print-readiness for all files.
* Highly advantageous knowledge of the European and USA print markets – Understanding of regional print standards, supplier networks, and production expectations (UK less important).
* Esko software experience is a plus – Knowledge of industry-standard production tools is highly beneficial.
* Press pass & pre-production experience – Must be comfortable attending press approvals and troubleshooting print issues on-site.
