POSITION SUMMARY:
Join Alexander Dennis as an HR Advisor and play a key role in delivering our strategic HR plan across multiple business functions. Supporting managers and employees, you’ll provide expert guidance on HR policies, team member relations, and best practices while driving engagement and continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate across teams, influence key business decisions, and contribute to a positive and people-focused workplace culture.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
* Lives and role models the company Values and culture at all times.
* Work collaboratively across sites with the wider HR team to develop policy and procedure in line with best practice and legislative requirements.
* Support culture change activity and positively drive employee engagement through strategic HR projects.
* Support the development of cross-functional working and champion communication.
* Ensure adherence to the Alexander Dennis Communication Charter by all Line Managers across your functions.
* Work as an advisor to drive key business decisions in line with HR guidance.
* Support the recruitment, selection and onboarding process within best practice guidelines.
* Lead and manage our Community & Charity Calendar, engaging team members in events throughout the year.
* Participate in meetings with the Aftermarket Consultative Committee (ACC).
* Advise, guide and coordinate performance development reviews and training/development requirements.
* Drive talent management and succession planning activities.
* Develop clear performance measurement and drive delivery of KPIs.
* Challenge, coach and advise management on ER issues including performance management and absence management.
* Identify improvement opportunities for the business and ways of working that engage our people.
* Produce high quality reports and HR presentations as required by HR and the business.
* Support all elements of the employee life cycle from recruitment to exit.
* Ensure the privacy of personnel data processed is maintained at all times, adhering to GDPR.
* Project manage HR and business-related projects requiring HR lead or support.
* Provide support and advice to the HR Co-Ordinator and HR Administrator Group & Aftermarket.
* Collaborate with the Marketing function to improve internal communications and employer branding.
* Provide effective support to the payroll function and support system development activity.
* Other duties as reasonably required by the business.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
* Part or Fully CIPD qualified or willingness to work towards.
* 2-3 years generalist experience at HR Officer or Advisor level.
* Proficient knowledge of human resources management, ER and employment law.
* Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, Outlook; knowledge of Visio is desirable.
* Experience with a fully integrated Payroll, Personnel and Time and Attendance System.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
* A positive attitude, team spirit, and collaborative operation.
* An understanding of data and information sensitivity and confidentiality.
* Excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills.
* Commercial awareness and business understanding.
* Experience working with Trade Unions and Staff Representatives.
